History

The Selinsgrove Gelnett Book Festival is a collaboration between Susquehanna University’s Build Collaborative, The Rudy Gelnett Library, The Borough of Selinsgrove, and The Selinsgrove Area Chamber of Commerce.

The Selinsgrove Gelnett Book Festival seeks to foster an inclusive and diverse literary community in Central PA by promoting local authors, stories, and presses. By uniting people around their love of books, this festival contributes to the larger discourse of what books are to the people who love them and the importance of reading. We strive to create a multi-generational reading community that celebrates anything and everything literary. Our six-member team for 2025-2026 consists of individuals passionate about the literary scene, who are focused on uplifting the reading community locally.

While the program hosted an author fair last year, we hope to start a new annual tradition of a large-scale book festival.

Our Sponsors

We deeply appreciate all of our sponsors involved in the festival. The 2026 Festival was sponsored by LB Water, Cole’s Hardware, Weis Markets, The Creative Space, Graci’s Flowers and Gifts, and OIP.
